Lamborn Family Vineyards

The Lamborn family has been farming grapes organically for over 40 years in the heart of Howell Mountain with wines made by the icon winemaker Heidi Barrett. Heidi has been responsible for some of California's most notable cult wines, and is who critics call "The First Lady of Wine" as well as "the Queen of Cult Cabernet".

The Howell Mountain AVA, which the late Bob Lamborn was  instrumental in establishing in 1983, was also the first sub appellation in Napa. Their business philosophy is simple. “We grow the very best grapes we are capable of  so that Heidi has the best  possible raw materials from  which to work."

Third generation Vintner and Farmer Mike Lamborn will be tasting us through 5 of their exclusive, micro production, elegant wines made by Heidi Barrett! (FYI the avg price for a Heidi Barrett Cabernet is over $200!)

The Wines:

'23 Lamborn Rosé (Retail $41)

Extremely limited production at 200 cases annually.

This Rosé is 100% varietal (not blended) single vineyard Grenache from Oak Knoll, Napa Valley and fermented dry with no residual sugar. "A rich and vibrantly colored dry Rosé, this wine offers beautiful aromatic fruit notes of strawberry, passionfruit, watermelon, and guava, complemented by hints of rose petal." - Heidi Barrett

Lamborn 2200’ Red Wine Blend 2019 (Retail $79)

Extremely limited production at 400 cases annually.

100% estate and organically grown Howell Mountain, Napa Valley Cabernet and Zinfandel. "Like a fragrant country summer evening, the nose offers attractive cherry, raspberry, and  blueberry notes with an underlying hint of orange zest. - Heidi Barrett

2020 Lamborn “Carnation” Cabernet Sauvignon (Retail $65)

Varietal: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petite Sirah

“Showcasing a deep magenta and garnet hue, the nose immediately offers notes of currant,  pomegranate, and raspberry fruit intertwined with caramel and holiday spice. Medium body with moderate tannin, rich and decadent layers of chocolate, blueberry, and north star cherry predominate more subtle hints of gingerbread and orange zest. - Heidi Barrett

2019 Lamborn Family Vineyards "Milestone" Zinfandel  (Retail $65)

Extremely limited production at 900 cases annually.

100% estate and organically grown Howell Mountain, Napa Valley Zinfandel

"Another beautiful Zinfandel in the style that the Lamborns have become known for.  Bing cherry, raspberry and blackberry compote, stewed plum, roses, and chocolate meet the  quintessential Lamborn pepper on the nose." - Heidi Barrett

2019 Lamborn “Vintage XVII” Cabernet Sauvignon (Retail $140)

Extremely limited production at 500 cases annually.

100% estate and organically grown Howell Mountain, Napa Valley Cabernet

“Beautiful aromas permeate immediately after pulling the cork: wild blueberries and blackberries, currant, wildflowers, river rock, chocolate and dust, all complimented by vanilla and mocha from the  tight grain, medium toast French oak. Similar to the aromas, the prominently luscious dark and blue fruits  are accompanied by dark chocolate, slight white pepper, and toasty oak. The finish is as long as the wine  is dark and rich.” - Heidi Barrett
