About the event

ABOUT

"Certain wineries have grabbed my attention over the years because you can taste & feel their trajectory upwards. I've seen this winery grow from a small tasting room to their now large tasting barn & property. The wines remain elegant, serious, yet comforting."  - Naushad Huda

"We believe fully that the greatest bottle of wine becomes far greater when amongst fine food and fine company, there is no argument to this fact." - Lone Madrone

Lone Madrone started in 1996, when Neil Collins (Winemaker and Vineyard Manager at Tablas Creek since 1998), with the support of his wife Marci and sister Jackie, brought his vision to fruition.  The resultant wine was the inaugural vintage of Lone Madrone, so named for the tree that stands alone presiding over the vineyard. As they have slowly grown into the small Estate today, the philosophy has remained the same -- each wine should be distinct and what makes it distinct should be where the fruit was grown, how it was grown and who grew it.

Winemaker and the son and nephew of the Lone Madrone trio of owners, Jordan Collins, is coming down to lead a special tasting of wines. Jordan's fascination with wine began in earnest while growing up on the Tablas Creek property and his early years began with internships at local wineries, specifically iconic L’Aventure and Tablas Creek Vineyard. After a brief hiatus to explore the world, he then took a harvest position with Tablas Creek for the 2013 harvest to work alongside his father Neil.

This was followed by harvests in France at the esteemed winery Chateau De Beaucastel, VillaCreek Cellars in Paso Robles, and finally Two Hands in the Barossa Valley of Australia. Following these internships and travel opportunities he returned to the family business to begin what is

hopefully a long career within a close knit family of wine fanatics.
