Trefethen Wine Tasting

Pioneers in the Napa Valley, the Trefethen family are champions of estate grown wines. For three generations, they have carefully tended to their land, employees, and customers, building a loyal following for their legacy of fine, age-worthy wines with a deep integrity of place.

We are so excited to have Lorenzo Trefethen, third generation winemaker, from Trefethen Family Vineyards come visit us and share his love of wine!!

Full of creative energy and known for his infectious laugh, Lorenzo believes in the power of wine to bring people together. Growing up, the family table was often full of interesting visitors to the Napa Valley, and as an undergraduate at Stanford, he took over instruction of the French Department’s wine tasting course. 

These early experiences of uniting people around wine inspired Lorenzo to make a life in the family business. Curious and gregarious, he connects the winery with new audiences and ideas from outside the world of wine. Together with his sister Hailey, Lorenzo represents the next generation of the Trefethen family, passionate to uphold a legacy of world-class estate grown wines.

THE WINES

2022 Dry Riesling ($30)

Vibrant aromas of stone fruit and lemon zest are layered with notes of jasmine and wildflowers. Fresh on the palate, flavors of grapefruit, lime and other citrus lead to a clean and bright finish.

2021 Estate Chardonnay ($40)

“ . . . . the yardstick by which all other Chardonnays must be measured.”- Robert Drouhin

This wine is crisp, with lovely aromas of lemon, jasmine, white peach, and lavender. On the palate, the bright acidity is supported by flavors of honeydew melon and citrus, delivering a refreshing finish.

2020 Estate Cabernet Franc - Winery Only ($60)

".....sexy, lush…." Robert Parker – Concentrated aromas of cherry and strawberry, layered with accents of vanilla and a hint of graphite. On the palate, silky tannins carry the fruit and lead to a roasted coffee and black pepper finish.

2019 Dragon's Tooth Red Blend ($65)

Bold, dark fruit aromas of blackberry, plum, and boysenberry are complemented by notes of clove, nutmeg, and cedar. Generous on the palate, the lively acidity and youthful tannins add depth and energy, leading to a long, concentrated finish.

2020 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon ($75)

Aromas of black cherry, plum and molasses are layered with notes of lavender and cedar. Dense on the palate, flavors of tobacco, black pepper and dark fruits lead to an earthy richness on the finish.
