The story of Frog’s Leap begins with Rory's father John Williams, born in Western New York. He attended Cornell University, initially studying dairy sciences, but a work-study program at Taylor Wine Company sparked his love for wine. A spring break trip to California further inspired him.
In 1975, Williams returned to Napa Valley, pitching a tent on a farm near Saint Helena. Dr. Larry Turley, a friend’s brother, recommended him to Warren Winiarski of Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, where Williams became the sole employee. He helped bottle the…
