ABOUT.
Winemaker EDGAR TORRES roots run deep through wine in Paso Robles. He was recently profiled in the L.A. Times, crafts critically acclaimed wines that winemakers order at dinner and he's just getting started.
Edgar was born in Michoacan, Mexico. At 8 years old, Edgar’s parents brought him with them to the U.S. to the small coastal town of Cambria, CA. In 2002, he moved to Paso Robles where he continued to work as a waiter at the local winemaker hang out, Villa Creek Restaurant. Here his interest in wine grew as he became friends with several local wine producers who generously shared their vintages with him and supported him in developing his palate.
Bodega de Edgar is a 3,000 case production focused on 100% Spanish Varietals as well as several unique blends. Edgar’s focus continues to be on producing wine as naturally as possible using the highest quality fruit from local vineyards.
He was featured in Forbes Magazine in a 2019 article as one of 3 “must visit” wineries on the West side and recent scores from Wine Enthusiast range from 91-94. Wine Advocate has also scored Edgar’s wines in the 90-95 point range.
